An Electromagnetic Transient Analysis Model for DFIG Considering LVRT Hardware Protection

Crowbar protection and chopper (CCP) are commonly used hardware measures in the process of low voltage ride through (LVRT) doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG). The protections operating states during fault have an important influence on electromagnetic transient (EMT) DFIG. Therefore, different from only considering single protection, coordinated control crowbar further considered this paper, a novel analysis method CCP operation criterion is proposed by analyzing relationship between rotor current, DC-link post-fault terminal (PFTV) On basis, under drop depths analyzed. And EMT model DFIG studied. for later validated PSCAD/EMTDC-based simulation results. results show that paper good accuracy practicability, which provides more references study characteristics
